OYETOLA, OWA OBOKUN AND OTHER TRADITIONAL RULERS CANVASS FOR UNITY AT IWUDE IJESA FESTIVAL.

The 2 week-long 2019 Iwude Ijesa festival has come to the end with participants calling for unity and progress of Ijesa land
Speaking on the occasion, Osun state governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola who was represented by his deputy, Mr Benedict Alabi said his government was collaborating with the federal government to turn the cultural  and tourists attractions in the state to a fortune and make Iwude to be be reckoned with just  as other popular festivals the country.
Describing ijesaland as home of natural and human endowment, Mr Oyetola noted that the recent peace and unity being propagated by the Iwude Planning committee has begun to materialize through impressive turnout of the traditional rulers in the land for the cultural festival.
According to him the just concluded economic summit in the state capital which centered on diversifying to state economy is to agriculture and mining will open windows of opportunities for people of the state.
Earlier the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, oba  Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran  had eulogized the 2019 Iwude Planning committee expressing optimism that the restored unity in the land will usher in a new era of rapid transformation and escape from retrogression.
Oba Aromolaran thanked the state governor for his Unflinching support for Ijesaland just as he appreciated the minister of interior for fast tracking approval of establishment of federal  Fire service training school in Ilesa.
Also in a remark, the Elegboro of Ijebujesa, oba Olufemi Agunsoye called on sons and daughters of Ijesaland to see one another as members of the same family and support their traditional rulers in their efforts to a build a new Ijesaland devoid of disunity and individualism.
Corroborating oba Agunsoye's view, the Adimula of Ifewara, oba  Adeniyi Owolola described this edition of uu as  beginning new things in Ijesaland, urging the Committee members to keep  pace with the development and consolidate the success.
Meanwhile,  eminent ijesa people have been reacting to the large turnout and peaceful conduct of participants at this year’s edition of the festival classified as unifying factor for the  progress of Ijesa.
The Asiwaju of Ilesa, chief Yinka Fasuyi said the colorful parade by clubs and societies did not only add glamour to the event, but showed the strength of Ijesaland, but showcased its cultural values.
Chief Fasuyi beaconed on ijesa sons and daughters who are yet to join the fast train and catch up with the global standard In the cultural sector,
Another prominent ijesa man, prince Seyi Lufadeju who said he was thrilled by the performances of cultural troops who performed at the occasion, gait of traditional rulers clad in beautiful embroidered royal garments and beaded crowns and walking sticks to match, averred that Ijesa unity has come to stay.
Contributing, an ijesa woman I diaspor, barrister Janet Fasakin who said she has not been missing the festival since 2008 when it was rebranded for the unity sake affirmed that this year’s edition was a confirmation of a better day ahead for the ijesas.
 Barrister Fasakin reiterated resolve of the Ijesas in diaspora to continue projecting good image of the land in their various countries of residence .
Among the traditional rulers and dignitaries on attendance were minister of interior, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, speaker Osun state assembly, mr Timothy Bamidele, chief of staff to the state governor, Mr Charles Akinola, Member of the house of Representatives, representing Ijesa South federal constituency, Mr Lawrence Babatunde Ayeni, Member representing, irewole, Isokan, Mrs Taiwo  Oluga, Head of service, Dr Olowo Gboyega,  Akeji of Ikeji ile, Alademure of Ibokun, Olufon of Ifon Orolu, Akinla of Erin Ijesa, Olumobi of Imobi, Owamiran of Esa Oke, Olura of Ira Arakeji, Lofosan of Ilesa.

ASIWAJU YINKA FASUYI PAYS WAEC FEES FOR 300 STUDENTS !

Education has been Described as an investment in sustainable human development and national security .

The former minister of health Professor Isaac Adewole stated this at the presentation of cheques for WAEC fees to three hundred students from seventy public secondary schools in Ijesaland by Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi Foundation in Ilesa to the tune of 10 million naira.



Professor Adewole who commended the gesture of Asiwaju Fasuyi said  the donor had charted a path to greatness without seeking pecuniary gains.

“any continued neglect of or inattention to the real issues in education would amount to sowing the seeds for the eventual bursting of the political, economic, social and technical bubbles that trigger off insecurity” he quotes the renowned educational icon, Pai Obanya.
According to him Asiwaju has chosen to  invest in the present and  future of the beneficiaries without a political agenda, stressing that the surest way to invest in national security is promoting education.

In  his speech, the founder, Asiwaju  of Ilesa and Balogun of Ijebu-jesa, chief Yinka  Fasuyi disclosed that the foundation was on the verge of  closing the technology literacy gap in Ijesaland through establishment of an information communication Technology centre for the people, to complement the annual sponsorship of public secondary school students for WAEC examinations.

“ technology is fast becoming the largest employer of labours and jobs involving the use of technology are fast expanding in the world, as the future of our development path lies in embracing ICT. But alas majority of our Youths are failing to realize this and are being left behind. Technology makes the world a better place as it serves as a key indicator towards industrialization with wealth generation potential and when individuals embrace and learn to use technology , they become change agents in their communities” says  Asiwaju.

Asiwaju Fasuyi who is also the founder and chief Executive Officer of Ibadan Business School, also emphasized that unity is the bedrock of developmental drive in any society, noting that the program is poised to integrate traditional rulers in Ijesaland and the Youths for mutual and sustainable development.

HE STATED THAT THE MAIDEN EDITION OF THE EDUCATIONAL INTERVENTION PROGRAMME IN 2017/2018 FEATURED PAYMENT OF 100 STUDENTS IN TWENTY SELECTED SCHOOLS WHILE 2018/2019 WITNESSED AN INCREASE IN THE NUMBER TO TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY STUDENTS IN SEVENTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

Corroborating Asiwaju Fasuyi , his wife, Yeye Asiwaju of Ilesa and Yeye Balogun of Ijebu-jesa, (Dr)chief Bisi Fasuyi pointed out that  the foundation will partner one community, one project organization to train 300 people across the six local government areas in Ijesaland on various vocations in line with its integration moves.

In a remark, the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland , oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran advised the beneficiaries to opt for science and technology oriented courses in high institutions as the global economy is driven by technology, stressing that the students should eye careers that are self-reliant instead of struggling for white collar jobs.

A beneficiary, miss  Bola Kayode expressed appreciation to the AYFF for easing her mother of theburden of funding her WAEC examinations, saying the gesture is a great relief to her widowed mother.

Ibadan, the largest city in West Africa on Friday 29th November, 2019 went agog as crème de la crème of the society gathered at the first metropolitan Club in Africa, Ibadan Recreation Club (1902) to honor the Chief Executive Officer, Ibadan Business School,  Asiwaju Olayinka Fasuyi, FNIM, FIMC, FCIRM, FNITD, JP, Asiwaju of Ilesa, Balogun of Ijebu-jesa, during his investiture as patron of the prestigious club.

This additional feather in Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi's cap makes him the first member and past president  to be elevated to the exalted position of patron  in the history of Ibadan Recreation Club since 1902.

Asiwaju Fasuyi , an astute management consultant of international repute and a philanthropist of note who was flanked  by his amiable wife Yeye Asiwaju, Dr Bisi Fasuyi, was decorated  as patron alongside other eminent Nigerians including two foremost imperial majesties, the Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi the Ojaja II and Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Zulu Gambari and a world class renowned geologist, Akogun Tunde Afolabi.

Also decorated as the grand patron was the governor of Oyo state, engineer Abiodun Seyi Makinde and his wife, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde as a life member of the club, while a Professor of crop physiology and the former Vice Chancellor Caleb University, Professor Oluwarotimi Tayo , hon Dr Babayomi Taiwo and omooba Goke Oladini were installed as trustees.

In his response, Asiwaju Fasuyi, the founder and  chairman of Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi Foundation ( AYFF), expressed gratitude to God for the singular honor to be the first past president to be installed as the club’s patron and thanked traditional rulers and other invited guests that graced the occasion.

He promised not to renege his promise to always  contribute meaningfully towards the growth of the club and announced a cash donation of 5 million naira to support the club’s development.

Also speaking, the Ooni of Ile-Ife,Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi reminisced the time he came visiting  the club some decades back, saying he feels honored to be considered for the patroonship position of the prestigious Ibadan Recreation Club.
He averred his support to the club and prayed for God will continue to strengthen the string of unity binding members together.





Earlier in his welcome address,  president  Olumakinde Oni has highlighted the needs of the club to include an ultramodern Civic centre, a standard guests house that befits the status of the club and a bus.
Present at the epoch Making event are traditional rulers including the Ooni of Ile-Ife, Emir of Ilorin, Akeji of Ikeji ile, Owamiran of Esa oke, Alademure of Ibokun, Ala of Ila ijesa, Onibala of Ibala, Oniwaraja of Iwaraja, Adimula of Ife Iwara, Owalare of Ilare, Obanla of Ilesa, Oloja Of Ibodi, Akinla of Erin Ijesa, the Iwude Ijesa representatives led by the vice Chairman, chief Afolabi Igbaroola, the pioneer chairman of the rebranded Iwude Ijesa committe, chief Akinwande Akinola. Representatives of Ijesa Sport club, Felate club to mention a few.
