1964-68 ILESA GRAMMAR SCHOOL OLD STUDENTS' ASSOCIATION GIVES STUDENTS SCHOLARSHIPS.

Students have been charged to strive for excellence in their pursuit of academic career and quest for greater future
The principal of Ilesa Grammar school , Mr Lekan Orisajimi and Dr Adigun Adewoye gave the charge at the presentation of scholarship award to ten outstanding SS2 students of the school by 1964 -1968 Old Students’ Association of Ilesa Grammar School in conjunction with Titilade Foundation.
Dr Adewoye , while congratulating the lucky students , attributed the gesture to the  set 64-68’s recognition and appreciation of seriousness and hard work among the students who proved their worth during the quiz and debate competitions organized to select the beneficiaries.
The founder of the foundation otunba Jumoke Ogunkeyede popularly known as JMK emphasized that the scholarship was organized to mitigate the financial constraints among the parents.
Otunba Ogunkeyede who is also an old student of the school recounted the hardship and agony he went through with his mother to have a secondary school education after the death of his father, urging the beneficiaries to use the opportunity to climb up the ladder.
In their separate remarks, two other old , mr Jide Abiola, alhaji Lasisi Ibrahim and prince Isaac Haastrup advised to shun social vices , face their studies squarely and be of good ambassadors of  the alma mater wherever the find themselves .
Speaking on behalf of others, a beneficiary, mr Steven Farinto who was the winner of the star prize , thanked the old students and Titilade Foundation for the rare opportunity, promising to make the school and the nation proud in their academic and other curricular activities.

IJESALAND GETS ANOTHER UNIVERSITY

88 years after building the Premier secondary school in Ijesaland, Ilesa Grammar School,Egbe Atunluse, in conjunction with Deeper Christian  Life Bible Church concludes plans on  establishing a private University in Atakumosa West Local Government Area.
The Chairman, of Egbe Atunluse,  the foremost society in Ijesaland, professor Adeniyi Olu- Obi disclosed this at the news conference to unveil activities mapped out for the centenary anniversary of the society 
Professor Obi hinted that the egbe in conjunction with other stakeholders had secured 400 hectares of  land with the  certificate of occupancy  for the church  and sort out payment of compensation to the former owners .
Citing the trajectory of the society, the past president , professor Yemi Kayode -Adedeji said the egbe had immensely contributed to the development of Ijesaland through establishment of Ilesa Grammar school in 1934 and Obokun High school in 1954 in addition to other social interventions, stressing that work will commence at the permanent site of the proposed private university in weeks’ time.
 Attributing the concern and commitment of the progenitors of the society to their patriotism, the chairman of the occasion and former Managing Director, International Brewery PLC , chief Akinwande Akinola advised leadership of the egbe to open corridors for young people to join the organization in order  to achieve greater exploit.
While appreciating  the state governor, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola for the  approval of Ilesa University, chief Akinola said with the  the proposed private university championed by the society, ijesaland would experience an economic boom in the nearest future.
In their remarks, the National president of Ilesa Grammar school Old Students ‘Association Doctor Obi Daramola and his counterpart from Obokun High School professor LK Jeje maintained that the contributions of Egbe Atunluse to the development of Ijesaland could not be underestimated.
Calling on the well meaning members of the public to rally round the society, a guest and a  former member of Board of Directors, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria , mrs Dupe Ajayi Gbadebo eulogized the egbe Atunluse and urged it to make membership flexible to accommodate female gender.
