IJESALAND SETS THE PACE AS OWA OBOKUN UNVEILS SEVEN-MAN LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS MONITORING TEAM

The Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Dr Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II CFR, LLD has unveiled the Ijesaland Independent Development Monitors, IIDM. 
Unveiling the names of IIDM members the paramount ruler of Ijesaland, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran charged them to be good ambassadors and not to betray the trust reposed in them by the steering committee under the leadership of Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi .
Members of the 7 man Local Government Areas Monitoring team , the first of it’s kind in the country, as nominated by the IIDM steering committee under the auspices of Ijesaland Community Development Assembly are Dr Adigun Adewoye a Consultant Statistician with a PhD certificate in Management from the Evangel Christian University of America, Louisiana, a Master of Science in Statistics and Bachelor of Science in Geography from University of lbadan, Nigeria.as the chairman, Sir Ademola Aladekomo an accomplished Computer Engineer who has served as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of SmartCard Society of Nigeria, Council Member, Osun State University, Board Member, Osun State University, as the vice chairman, Dr Olusanya Olajide a management consultant is the General Secretary, 

Others are Dr Oluremi Folorunso FCA,  a renowned Chartered Accountant, who is is in charge of Finance/ ICT., Barrister Funmi Obisan, a member, Chartered Institute of Director who is to serve as the legal adviser , Mr Ayodeji Odeyemi,a seasoned banker, is in charge of Finance/ Project Management and the former national Vice-President, Ijesa Youth Forum Prince Tobi Adeleye, a seasoned banker and an ICT guru takes care of Youth/ Data Analysis.

The monitors were individuals who are widely respected for their probity on all sides, according to Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi, the Asiwaju of Ijesaland and the chairman of the steering committee, who read the IIDM members' profiles to the Owa in council earlier.

 Asiwaju Fasuyi disclosed that the IIDM was founded in response to President Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu's request for close monitoring of local governments' handling of public funds and resources in the wake of the Supreme Court ruling granting local governments financial autonomy.

He requested and was granted permission by the kabiyesi to meet with Senator Ademola Adeleke, the state governor, iErelun order to map out a course of action for the completion of the Ilesa water project. 
During his thank-you speech, High Chief Adebola Orolugbagbe, the Odole of Ilesa, implored the Ijesa elites to intervene and stop the impending religious conflict that is developing around the ongoing dual carriageway road project in Ilesa.

In attendance were members of the IIDM steering committee members including , Alhaji Lateef Bakare, Alagba Wale Ojo, chief Afolabi Igbaroola, Erelu Jumoke Olafadehan , Mr Bukola Fadipe, Mr Akin Olatunbosun and Mrs Yemisi Falope.

Report indicates that the date for the inauguration of the Ijesaland Independent Development Monitors will be announced in due course.
The unveiling ceremony was also graced by the Owa in council comprising rhe Obaala of Ilesa, the Ogboni of Ilesa, the Oba Odo of Ilesa. the Lejoka of Ilesa, Yeyerise of Ilesa and the isogba

OMODEWU’S DEATH , A BIG BLOW TO OYO POLITICS – HON LEKAN FAMUREWA

An All Progressive Congress stalwart, Hon. Lekan Famurewa, says the death of the Oyo State chairman of APC, Barrister Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu, who died in a U.S hospital, is a colossal loss. Hon. Famurewa, in a condolence message to the family, described the late APC chairman as an epitome of progressive ideology and administrator per excellence who left an indelible print in the sands of time.

 Honourable Famurewa expressed sympathy to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the National Secretariat of the APC and the Oyo State chapter of the party for the passing of the renowned political guru, saying his  services were crucial in repositioning the party for victory in the 2027 election.

He asked God to give the party members and the family the strength to handle the unfathomable loss.

FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC, BIDA' S GOVERNING COUNCIL PLEDGES TO MOULD YOUNG MINDS INTO SKILLED PROFESSIONALS


The governing council of The Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Niger State  says it will ensure that the institution remains a place where young minds are not only educated but molded into skilled professionals, morally grounded citizens, and forward-thinking entrepreneurs.

The chairman, Hon. Ismaila Muazu Hassan stated this during the 94th Regular Meeting of the Governing Council.

Hon. Muazu Hassan Vowed that his regime would leave no stone unturned in  making sure that the vision is realized in ways that are both profound and sustainable.

“As we embark on this new chapter, our task is to ensure that this vision continues to be realized in ways that are both profound and sustainable. We must strive to create an academic environment that fosters intellectual rigor, nurtures creativity, and encourages ethical leadership. Our students are the future of our nation, and it is our responsibility to equip them with the knowledge, skills, and values that will enable them to navigate and contribute to an increasingly complex and dynamic world”, he said.

He urged members of the council to be guided by a shared vision of excellence, equity, and innovation in all that they do.



“In this endeavor, we must not lose sight of the importance of technological innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. The world around us is evolving at an unprecedented pace, and it is imperative that our curriculum, research, and community engagement activities reflect this reality. We must challenge ourselves to think beyond traditional paradigms and embrace new methodologies and partnerships that will position our polytechnic at the forefront of technological education and innovation.

Moreover, our commitment to moral integrity and ethical conduct must be unwavering. In a time when the lines between right and wrong are often blurred, it is crucial that we instill in our students a strong moral compass. This, I believe, is the bedrock of true leadership and the foundation upon which lasting success is built”, he added.

Concerning the well-being of academic and non-academic personnel, the governing council chairman pledges a strong and amicable working rapport together with a generous benefits package for the workforce.



Other members including   Mr. Michael Olalekan Famurewa, Mr. Hassan Musa Dabutor, Mr. Garba Mohammed Dukku, and Mr. Abdullahi Nedanda Bardi, Mrs Blessing Ugwu who represented the  Federal Ministry of Education and Dr. Baba Aliyu Haruna, the Rector, declared their commitment to taking the organisation to unprecedented heights.

At the inaugural meeting were other members including  Dr. Henry Diko Koce , Deputy Rector, Admin, Dr. Hussain Mohammed Enagi, Registrar, Dr. Nda-Umar Usman Idris, Rep. Academic board, Bldr. Dr. Shehu I. Abubakar, Rep. Academic board, and three representatives of  congregation members Dr. Umaru M. Sayanuwan, Mal. Salihu M. Al-Mustapha and Dr. Alfa Mohammed Salisu as well as  the community representative,  Alh. Abdullahi B. Umaru.
