Wesley Guild Hospital is on the verge of gaining autonomy as a standalone health institution, as Wema Bank has pledged to refurbish the entrance of the Owa Obokun's palace.
During separate courtesy visits to Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup Ajimoko III, the Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, Professor John Okeniyi, Chief Medical Director of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex, and Mr. Tunde Mabawonku, an Executive Director at Wema Bank Nigeria, revealed this information.
According to Professor Okeniyi, the OAUTHC CMD, the paperwork necessary to fulfill the people of Ijesaland's request for Wesley Guild's autonomy has been completed, and the Ministry of Health's decision on the matter is awaited.
He briefed the kabiyesi about the preparation for the fiftieth anniversary of the metamorphosis of Wesley Guild Hospital to Obafemi Awolowo University Hospital Complex .
In a statement, Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup underscored his commitment to the efficient transformation of the hospital into a Federal Medical Centre amidst intensified talks with the Methodist Church Nigeria.
This was followed by a private meeting with the management of Wema Bank Nigeria.
