CURFEW BEGINS IN IJESALAND AS OWA'S BURIAL RITES BEGIN

The Owa Obokun and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, Oba Dr Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, CFR, LLD has passed on.

Announcing the passing the paramount ruler at a mini conference at the palace of the Owa Obokun, the Ogboni of Ipole,  Oba Oyebade Oyeleye said Oba Adekunle Aromolaran died yesterday at an undisclosed hospital in the country.

According to Ogboni Ipole who is one of the Agba Ijesas , member of the Owa In Council, rites prelude to the interment of Oba Adekunle Aromolaran have   begun in harness .
As part of the rites, a seven day curfew from 10pm to 6 am starting from today and 3- day  closure of the markets across Ijesaland was declared by the agba ijesas.

The conference was attended by the Ogboni of Ilesa, High Chief Saka Fapounda, Ogboni of Ibokun, Oba Festus Awogboro, Oba Odo of Ilesa, High Chief Busuyi Gbadamosi, Yeyerise of ilesa, Chief Mrs Bolanle Ojo, Arojo of Irojo, chief Segun Akeju, Obaloro of Ibokun, Chief Oginni, Asiwaju of Ijesaland, Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi, and other prominent ijesa traditional rulers and chiefs.

Aged 87 years, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran who died at the age of 87 years old  was installed on Feb 20  1982 

He succeed Oba Peter Adetunji Agunlejika who reigned between 1912 and 1981.
