10/10/2019  Oyetola lecture

Osun state governor, Mr Gboyega  Oyetola wants residents to come up with workable approach to achieving robust economy through entrepreneurship .
Governor Oyetola stated this at the second edition of Lawrence Omole Annual lecture organized by Ijesaland Foundation  for Entrepreneurial and Leadership Development.

Represented by his deputy. Benedict Alabi, the governor said the program did not only commemorate the shining legacies of the great ijesa people whose enterprises and leadership qualities have opened windows of opportunities for many to thrive, but served as an eye opener to opportunities embedded in entrepreneurship.
Also speaking, the first democratic deputy governor of osun state, prince Adesuyi Haastrup urged those who have progress of ijesaland  at heart  not be enchanted by cold attitudes of a few others who were yet to queue in to the developmental task.

In a remark, the former deputy governor, Erelu olusola Obada implored participants to endeavor to build on the legacies of the progenitors of ijesaland.
In a lecture entitled” Ijesaland: The Milk, Honey ( collective Approach)” the former Director General, Nigerian Geological survey Agency, Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, professor Siyan Malomo said apart from being the commercial hub of Osun state,  Ijesaland was blessed with capital, land,  human and mineral resources that could sufficiently cater for the whole Southwest.

Decrying the undermining her development in the guise of artisanal mining, the foremost geologist advocated proper mining of natural resources which the area was known for, to the benefit of the people rather than expose them to health hazard and their land to degradation.

Great Ijesa Patriots, Justice Kayode Esho, Isaac Ajanaku, Chief Ajibola Ige and Chief Dele Ayeni ware given Post humors award for their contribution to the development of Ijesaland.
