Clubs and societies in Ijesaland have been urged to synergize
their arsenals and use same to drive it’s economy and harness its natural and human
resources for her development.
President, Frontliners of Ijesaland, Mr Abayomi Oni gave the advice shortly after the
annual General Meeting and free medical check-up
for members and residents of Ilesa to commemorate the 6th anniversary of the Society.
Mr Oni said the society had in the past helped to impart the life of the less privileged in the society,
clear medical bills for in- patients at Wesley Guild Ilesa on many occasions and
make cash donations to support developmental projects initiated by other societies.
Calling on all clubs and societies leaders in Ijesaland to rally
round the paramount ruler of Ijesaland and his lieutenants to engender unity in
the land , Mr Oni said the arrays of world class self help projectsq being recorded
in Ijesaland in the recent times would not have been possible without cohesion.
According to him the Ijesa Front liners treasure good health
and attach much importance to the welfare of members and people of Ijesaland in
general, the reason it organized the medical check up and a physical exercise for
them.
A beneficiary of the free healthcare, mr Ayo Ogini described the gesture as commendable because it made him to be conscious of his health
Another beneficiary, Mrs Rebecca Agunbiade expressed gratitude to the organizer and described the aspect of the health talk as an eye opener for it made them see reason they should go for a periodic check up to avert avoidable death
A diasporan, Mr Gbenga Olanrewaju said he is proud to be a foundational member of the society which has been stretching helping hands to people with health and economic challenges, stressing that this year’s event is worth the effort because it is health driven.
The one week long program will be rounded off tomorrow with a Thanksgiving at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity
Omofe, Ilesa at 10 am.
